BlackHouse, Sep. 22 – One day after the US president’s speech in UN general assembly, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani responded his American counterpart in an address to the United Nations.
Hassan Rouhani, Iranian president, said that any act to violate the provisions of the JCPOA will be “responded” decisively by Iran. Addressing in the UN general assembly on Wednesday, Iranian president also said the US president’s speech in the same place the previous day was a clear violation of the JCPOA, the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the nuclear deal with Iran had been the worst ever deal in history of America adding “you’ve not heard the last of it.” Donald Trump also accused Iran of promoting terrorism in Yemen and Syria reaping the same undocumented allegations.
Mr. Rouhani said there are many options on the table for Iran if the US withdraws from JCPOA. One of the main options, Rouhani explained, is turning back to Iran’s normal nuclear program and rising the level of Uranium enrichment needed for Iran’s industry.
I declare before you that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not be the first country to violate the agreement. Iran will respond decisively and resolutely to its violation by any party.
It is reported that the US means to refrain from certifying Iran’s compliance with JCPOA in October to be able to withdraw from the deal. “It will be a great pity if this agreement were to be destroyed by ‘rogue’ newcomers to the world of politics – the world will have lost a great opportunity,” Mr. Rouhani also added.
While talking about world issues, Syria, Myanmar, and Yemen, a great part of Rouhani’s address was allocated to the conflicts over the fate of JCPOA. Rex Tillerson, the US Secretary of State and one of the members of P5+1, also confirmed Iran’s commitment to the deal in a meeting in sidelines of general assembly.
