BlackHouse, Sep. 05 – Sara Netanyahu, the wife of Israeli PM, will be charged for a series of frauds and financial corruptions misusing public funds for personal affairs. This is while her husband, currently the Prime Minister, is also under two separate convictions for corruption and breach of trust.
Mrs. Netanyahu is expected to be indicted in the coming weeks for a series of charges by Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit. According to Haaretz, she is accused of “diverting 400,000 shekels ($112,000) from government funds for her private housekeeping needs .”
Reports indicate that the referred amount of funds has been used for lavish dinner parties violating the regulations in prime minister’s residence. Ordering irregular and staggering meals and hiring chefs which were all concealed in the residence reports will be some of the charges against Mrs. Netanyahu.
Besides, hiring an electrician for the residence against the rules and without the precautions has been mentioned as one of the most important accusations Mrs. Netanyahu will be charged for. Avi Fahima, who was also a member of the Central Committee of Netanyahu’s Likud Party, was hired for the residence in direct violation of the rules. Reports also indicate that he was paid $2,500 for Netanyahu’s private residence.
Pieces of luxurious and expensive furniture, which were firstly purchased for the prime minister residence, were then moved to the private house getting replaced by the older ones in PM residence.
Fraud, falsification of documents and breach of trust are the main charges Sara Netanyahu will face in the court. The investigations of Mrs. Netanyahu’s frauds started in 2015 in a report by State Comptroller Yosef Shapira. Later in 2016, police forces called for charges to be filed against PM’s third wife.
This is while the corruption in Prime minister’s office started with Mr. Netanyahu having been accused of two separate charges. Bribery, breach of trust and financial corruption were among the main charges against the Israeli Prime Minister.
